James Lyons, P.E. - Senior Consultant
"Jamie" Lyons is a mechanical and environmental engineer with over 20 years of experience in building performance, energy efficient technologies, and program management. His areas of focus include high performance building program implementation; R&D on emerging energy technologies in buildings; codes/standards development; and technical communications.
Jamie works with Federal clients, states and municipalities, manufacturers, utilities, builders, associations, code officials, and non-profits to research innovations and performance issues in buildings, advance energy performance, and foster new technologies and programs. To successfully achieve objectives for his clients, Jamie combines elements of technical analysis, market strategy, and communications and outreach. Jamie has presented at several industry conferences in the past few years including Greenprints, RESNET, ACI, EEBA, and regional building industry events. He has authored numerous articles in publications such as Builder and Fine Homebuilding; has co-authored two Reports to Congress; and regularly presents to builders, contractors, and other construction professionals on topics such as advanced buildings and energy codes.
Mr. Lyons is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland, a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a member of ASHRAE. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in environmental engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
