Toyota iQ Hybrid Car
For the most part, when consumers think of Toyota the following trends usually arise: reliability, affordability, and hybrid leader. The automobile manufacturer was at one time the unquestioned leader in the industry, by a long shot. However, in recent years amidst various recalls, amounting to over 1.7 million cars worldwide, Toyota has become linked to defectiveness. Problems with sudden acceleration, fuel leakage, and brake fluid leaks have been the cause of some of the bigger recalls in recent years for the company.
While these issues have caused publicity problems for the automotive giant, they have not slowed sales, and now it appears they will not impede progress either. Toyota has been the leading manufacturer of hybrid cars in the past decade, yet has remained behind in the 100% electric car market. That is all about to change with the Scion IQ, or Toyota IQ in other parts of the world. The Scion IQ is expected to be available in the U.S. in 2012.
The car is expected to serve consumers who live in urban areas and rarely has more than one passenger, although there is seating for up to 4. The car has an electric range of about 50 miles, a fuel economy of 57 mpg, and CO2 emissions of 99 grams of CO2/km.
