Low-Conductivity Window Frames

These frames are constructed out of materials with low conductivity in order to minimize heat loss.

There are two main techniques used in making these frames. The first is for metal frames where a wide strip of low conductivity material is placed in between the inner and outer parts of the frame. The second involves making frames out of fiberglass instead of wood or vinyl. With the fiberglass, additional insulation can be added in order to create an even better thermal performance.

These products will reduce heat loss during the winter and reduce solar heat gain in the summer. They also reduce the risk of interior condensation. These types of frames are being used in commercial buildings and are applicable to just about any type of window.
